Handmade Wakizashi Ninjato
This Ninjato was hand forged and crafted authentically in all aspects of its creation. All the fittings and parts are genuine material. The blade has great balance. It is completely functional and can be completely disassembled for full maintenance.
Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand made with High Carbon 1060 Steel. The Carbon has been hammered throughout the blade so that it has a universal hardness throughout the entire blade. A blade groove has been added to the top of the blades to decrease the weight of the blades and give audible feedback when swung. The blade also features a kissake, hamon, and comes with a thin edge already sharpened. The sword is full tang, fully functional, and razor sharp. It can be used for drills, practice and test cutting.
Saya (scabbard): The Saya has been constructed from hardwood with a lacquered finish. A silk Sageo has been tied around the bright copper Kurigata.
Tsuba (hand guard): The Habaki is a one piece brass construction over a brass Seppa. The small tsuba has been constructed of metal alloy with a flower design.
Tsuka (handle): The Tsuka core is wooden with white ray skin samegawa wrapped over the wood. A silk Ito has been wrapped over the Samegawa. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang in the Tsuka. The Menuki, Fuchi and Kashira are all made from alloy metal and match the design of the Tsuba.
Straight Blade Wakizashi
This elegant Wakizashi Ninjato is as simple as it is reliable. Hand-forged from high carbon 1060 steel, the Steel extends all the way through the handle (Full Tang), making this short sword fully functional.
Its high carbon content allows it to absorb impacts of light and médium targets, while the bohi (blood Groove) that runs through its body makes it lighter and provides it with great balance, also giving it a graceful sound when cutting the air.
Sword Sharpness and Balance
All of our swords comes with Niku sharpening, however during checkout, you can request the blade Ultra Sharp, which makes it as thin as a razor blade, or not sharp at all.
Thanks to its great balance this Ninja sword can discharge powerful and accurate blows at close range, while its lightness allows its wearer to wield it gracefully for long periods of time without getting tired. In addition, its small size makes it ideal for enclosed spaces, being able to maneuver freely in places where a normal katana would get stuck.
On the other hand, its simplistic and striking style makes it a really elegant weapon.
The Scabbard
Its sheath has been constructed of hardwood and has been given a lacquered finish that makes it shine like a precious stone in the softest lights. The Saya comes with an ornamental silk Sageo tied where the sword begins. The Sageo was ancestrally considered a spiritual union between the owner and his sword, The Samurai used to tie the saya to the Obi belt using the Sageo; It was especially spirtual when the owner did not carry it for long periods of time.
The Habaki (blade collar) consists of a solid piece of brass, which acts as a safety when drawing and sheathing the sword, and a tight brass Seppa that holds the Tsuba in place. The Tsuba is also made of durable brass, protecting the hand from rival’s sword, and has a floral design that gives it a harmonious appearance.
The handle is based on a wood core with white ray skin Samegawa wrapped around it, held by 2 mekugi pegs which keep the sword tight and ready for practice. It is designed to be both comfortable and elegant, making this Ninja blade stand out once it has been drawn.
You can choose one of three colors: a deep black, a star white, or the red of the rising sun.
