You are looking at a Kiriha Zukuri Ninjato Sword. It is a straight Japanese sword that dates back to pre-Heian times.
The blade of the sword has been handmade from 9260 spring steel in a folded pattern. This pattern was achieved by painstakingly folding each layer of steel to create the grain pattern. This type of blade has more lateral strength and is easier for Tameshigiri (bamboo/mat cutting) from the weight and the reduced drag.
