You are looking at a Japanese hand forged Shirasaya folded Blade.
The blade of the sword has been handmade from 1095 High Carbon steel in a folded pattern. It is sharp and fully functional. This pattern was achieved by painstakingly folding each layer of steel to create the grain pattern.
The balance of the blade is perfect and the sword is completely functional. It can be used for drills, practice and Tamashigiri (test cutting). The handle is secured by two mekugi bamboo pins. The saya fits seamlessly into the blade.
