You are looking at a traditional Japanese Tanto. It has been folded 13 times (creating 8192 grain layers) and sharpened by the traditional 12 step methods. The balance of the blade is perfect and the sword is completely functional. The Tanto can be used for Iaido, drills, practice and cutting tests. The saya has a bamboo wooden finish and it fits seamlessly into the handle. A silk bag is included.
The blade features a midium Kissaki with a well defined Yokote. The sword is full tang and sharp.
