Red Night Katana / T10 Steel / Clay Tempered / Folded / Hadori Polish / Double Bo-Hi
The Red Night Katana has been hand forged with the strong and resistant T10 steel. It is a material with a high resistance to scratches and abrasions, so you will spend less time maintaining your sword and more using it. It is one of the best steels currently available for the creation of functional swords thanks to its strength and rigidity, which makes this a durable sword, able to withstand the passage of time without problem.
The blade has been strengthened with a clay tempering process, which makes its body more flexible so that it can withstand even the hardest blows, and hardens the edge enormously so that it can retain a precise edge for much longer than other swords. A sword in these conditions only needs a minor sharpening for every 500 tatami cuts.
My grandfather, a veteran who has fought in countless rebellions, who has lived through countless conspiracies, who knows the horrors of Japanese night, ninjas and betrayals, spends most of the day sleeping. I, disappointed by his lazy behavior, once asked him why he did that. Why he was wasting his last years of life like that. He looked me in the eye and told me that he had learned to sleep during the day because it is at night when you have to have your eyes wide open.
This katana features a harmonious Hamon that borders the edge of the blade and stands out with a silvery glow thanks to Hadori polishing. It transforms an already beautiful blade into an outstanding one. In addition, the steel has been folded to give it that wavy pattern that gives it a more traditional look.
The blade also has a double Bo-Hi. This reduces the weight of the sword and makes it possible to wield it for long periods of time without getting tired. It also improves balance, allowing for more precise strokes.
The Red Night Katana has a style that combines the black of the night with a blood red that is present in both the authentic ray skin of the Samegawa and the mottled pattern of the Saya. It’s a sword that remembers that it’s at night when you have to keep your eyes open.
