You are looking at the classic Japanese hand forged Shirasaya sword set. Each sword has been constructed from high carbon steel with a Maru lamination and each has been created in Shirasaya style with the scabbard and handle becoming one solid piece when the sword is sheathed. This classic sword set is perfect for basic tamashigiri training or home decoration. 100 percent of the blade is hand forged and made of high carbon AISI 1060 Steel. This sword set is suitable for light target tameshigiri.
Blade: Each blade has been constructed from through hardened 1060 high carbon steel with a straight edge design. A Bo-hi runs along the Mune of each blade. These blades come sharp with a full tang and secured by two mekugi pins.
Saya: The saya is wooden with a natural white finish. The Saya fits seamlessly into the Tsuka. Each saya is installed with a black protective ring to prevent the throat from cracking.
Tsuka: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction that secures the blade. The Tsuka is the same natural maple wood as the Saya. Two wooden Mekugis secure the tang of the sword in the Tsuka.
